“I tasted different barrel samples of the 2013 Nuits St Georges Clos des Fôrets Saint Georges 1er Cru according to soil type and altitude, since they differ so much in this monopole. The final blend demonstrated a more complex bouquet than the Clos de l’Arlot: a mixture and red and black fruit, minerals and a subtle marine influence. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, a silver thread of acidity and real density and panache on the finish. There is quite marked difference between the two monopoles this year, this certainly the better.” #216, The Wine Advocate
