A great, very classy wine that is surprisingly elegant and generous. It is a successful blend of Cannonau and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on strong, red, iron-rich clay soils. The nose is broad and estery, dominated by a slightly herbaceous note. On the palate it is dry, balanced and well orchestrated, with elegant structure and a soft oaky aftertaste.
It is the ideal accompaniment to roast meats, red meats, game and sophisticated dips of all kinds. It is also an excellent way to end a meal as an accompaniment to many cheeses, particularly hard, semi-mature ones.
