Wyndham Estate Black Cluster Shiraz 75cl

  • Country: Australia
  • Region: Hunter Valley
  • Grape Varietals: Shiraz/Syrah

“George Wyndham was one of the great pioneers of the Australian wine industry, planting Australia’s first commercial Shiraz vineyard. Black Cluster was released to honour the first vintage at Wyndham Estate, and George’s role in pioneering Australian Shiraz. The Wyndham Estate Black Cluster is made from grapes from a single vineyard situated at the base of the Brokenback Ranges in the Hunter Valley. The 2007 Black Cluster spent 20 months in new and old French and American oak barrels, with 16 months bottle maturation. Deep ruby red with vibrant crimson purple hues. Intense, complex aromas of ripe plum, spice and lifted dark cherry fruit coupled with integrated subtle spice and cedary oak. This wine has great depth of fruit with ripe concentrated plum, dark berry fruit, light spice characters and savoury oak. Well structured fine tannins give this wine elegance and length while providing balance and structure to the wine’s intense fruit.” —winemaker
